Recent revelations are concerning customers of the Fordham Vet Clinic, a mobile service which operates out of an RV every Wednesday on the corner of East 188th Street and the Grand Concourse in Fordham.

One local resident says she was all set to get her cat, Soot, neutered, until she started doing some research the night before.

"I just started freaking out and I started crying," said Soot's owner. "I was like 'I could have killed my baby.'"

According to the New Jersey Attorney General, as well as court documents, Ehren Yablon, who is the listed doctor at the Fordham clinic, used to practice in Newark, but lost his license in 2022 following multiple animal cruelty charges.

Those include allegations of lying that a dog died during surgery, when it actually died beforehand - and storing three sick puppies in the same kennel without proper treatment or monitoring, which led to two dying.

Soot's owner said she was heartbroken thinking about those owners and their animals, saying, "you can't get that back. If I lost Soot, I would be gone. There's nothing that could save me from that."

While Yablon tried to avoid News 12 at first, he eventually agreed to speak off camera, swearing that none of the deaths were because of his negligence, and saying that he just wants to help pets and provide a service to the community.

Still, Soot's owner says with a past like that, "people have to at least know. people have a right to know your history. If they're putting their pets in your hands, they have a right to know everything you've ever done with other people's pets."

People in the area who had been the Fordham Veterinary Clinic had only good things to say, including Arnez Ahedo.

"I have two kittens and I bring them here, it's a reasonable price, and the gentleman's nice, nice man," said Ahedo.

New York state records show that Yablon is licensed to practice is New York.

While he admits that he still cannot practice in New Jersey, he claims he did settle, and that the charges were dismissed.
