Kids with limb differences got to strut their stuff on the runway in front of family, friends, and others in the community cheering them on Saturday night.

"Leaves our families and our kids who have limb differences to not only accept that they're different but to be proud of it,” said Catherine Nobile, of West Islip.

Twenty models, some as young as four years old, took to the stage at the 5th annual "Show Your Shine" event at The Paramount in Huntington, hosted by the Limb Kind Foundation.

The event raises awareness about limb loss and limb differences, but it also raises money for kids facing difficulties in other countries.

"Countries that don't have the opportunity to provide prostheses for the children. So we go over there, we take teams of prosthetists, physical therapists, amputee mentors, and we make children prostheses,” said Robert Schulman, executive director and founder of the Limb Kind Foundation.

Event organizers and participants say "Show Your Shine" is all about the importance of positivity and never giving up.

"It's done so much for my daughter who's only four years old,” said Nobile.

Limb Kind says it has already raised more than $112,000 in this campaign to further support its mission.
