A spokesperson for Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly said:

“NCDA thoroughly investigated and prosecuted this tragic case of elder abuse and secured a top-count violent felony assault plea from the defendant. Our office takes these matters very seriously, and are committed to protecting our most vulnerable residents from violence at the hands of caretakers. Our thoughts remain with Florence Cuccias’ family as they continue to mourn the loss of a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.”
