Police identify 27-year-old killed in Belmont shooting

Police are still investigating the incident, and there have been no arrests.

Police have identified the 27-year-old victim of a fatal shooting in Belmont on Tuesday afternoon.

Javier Saul was sitting in the rear passenger seat of a car around 3:35 pm when a black SUV pulled up, according to police. One of the people in the car fired shots, hitting Saul in the torso. The car drove away while Saul was taken to SBH Health System, where he was pronounced dead.

Police sources say the motive is still unclear. No one has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
