A lifelong Yankees fan is breaking barriers in the professional sports world.

Zara Terez Tisch is one of the few female vendors in Yankee Stadium’s merchandise store.

She started her company 17 years ago in her parents basement.

What used to be a handbag company has evolved into so much more.

Her unique designs and high quality fabrics caught the eye of Major League Baseball executives, and now she has a contract to design clothes for all MLB teams, as well as other professional sports agencies.

Terez-Tisch tells News 12 she wants to intersect fashion with sportswear.

“This can be something that's part of your everyday wardrobe,” she said.

When asked what the Yankees mean to her, Terez-Tisch said “family.”

She grew up going to Yankees games with her dad and sees the stadium as her happy place.

Yankees gear is available inside the stadium and in MLB stores throughout the city.

The Terez team can also be found outside the stadium interacting with fans on game days.
