A 350-ton bridge span was launched over the Bronx River as part of the MTA’s Penn Station Access project.

The new structure will support additional Metro-North tracks and service in the East Bronx.

Four new stations are planned in Co-op City, Hunts Point, Morris Park and Parkchester.

Officials say the upgrades will cut commute times by up to 45 minutes.

The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
