Early morning fire erupts at Jackson Houses in Melrose

Plumes of smoke were seen shooting out of the apartment on the 12th floor.

A fire ripped through a building in Melrose.

The FDNY confirms it happened at the Jackson Houses, a NYCHA complex on Park Avenue.

Plumes of smoke were seen shooting out of the apartment on the 12th floor.

After nearly an hour, the fire was deemed under control around 1:30 a.m.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The building is 16 floors, and the number of apartments impacted is unclear.
