Seven people were injured and a 71-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Friday evening in Co-op City, the NYPD said.

Law enforcement officials say the incident took place at 2063 Bartow Ave., just before 6 p.m.

At the scene, a silver Toyota was seen smashed against a light pole and two other cars behind it. That Toyota was being driven by a 79-year-old man. He hit a black Hyundai and a white Acura before slamming into the light pole.

The crash occurred outside The Mall at Bay Plaza, which was crowded at the time. No pedestrians were injured.

The seven people in the three cars were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK. Their ages range from 79 years old to an 11-year-old boy.

No arrests have been made.
