A family in Castle Hill left was left without power for over a week after a tree damaged their electrical wires.

On July 25, a tree came crashing down following a storm and landed on electrical wires that left the Rhaman family with no air conditioning, no power and no way to store food is the family's new normal.

The family tells News 12 that Con Edison assessed the scene the night of the storm, but they have not been back since, even after the numerous calls made to them.

Between hotel stays, food that is now rotten and multiple attempts with at-home fixes, the Rhaman family says they are out $8,000.

Con Edison released the following statement:

On July 25th, a storm damaged the customers' electrical equipment. The customer was advised to hire a licensed plumber to make repairs so we could safely restore service. Yesterday, July 31, the plumber completed the repairs and notified us. Our crews inspected the work yesterday afternoon. The work passed inspection and the customer’s power will be restored today.
