A man was arrested on the Thruway in Pelham after being found asleep in a work zone.

State police say the car was stopped in the center lane and the driver was unresponsive, prompting officers to break the window.

Once awake, 27-year-old Ramiro Efrain Tarco-Guaman allegedly put the car in drive, nearly striking a trooper.

He was arrested and faces multiple charges, including aggravated DWI.
