The Battle for City Hall is in its most critical phase, as the general election to decide the next mayor of New York City is three weeks away.
Democratic Socialist and Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani continues to hold a strong lead over his opponents, with 46% of likely voters backing him, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo picked up support from voters after current NYC Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the race in late September. Polls show he now has support from 33% of likely voters.
Curtis Sliwa trails with 15%, but the Republican candidate is confident he can pick up substantial support in the final weeks of campaigning.
Since throwing her endorsement behind Mamdani, Gov. Kathy Hochul made her first appearance alongside him today in his Queens District as she made an economic investment announcement.
The mayoral frontrunner has made a key campaign promise of affordability, something the governor touted.
"I want to thank Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani for putting an exclamation point on how hard it is for families struggling in this city, and why affordability measures are so important," the governor said.
The final mayoral debate will be held on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
