La Olazul, a new affordable and supportive housing development is in the Morris Heights section of The Bronx.

La Olazul has 115 apartments and 69 are supportive housing apartments for people coming out of homelessness.

The whole building is 100% affordable permanent housing.

Inside you will find an office space of both property managers and social services staff working with residents on employment, getting kids in school, childcare, etc.

When building this housing development, builders also wanted to positively impact the community.

"We're able to include commercial components so we can create jobs and support the local community and of course creates homes," said Melissa Bindra Principal of Vaya Development.

Construction will continue until May 2026 and they are hoping to start moving tenants in shortly after.
