Swift action by the NYPD led to the arrest of a teen who was carrying a loaded gun.

Officers with the Bronx Auto Larceny unit saw a teen riding their bike on the sidewalk, which is prohibited, in the vicinity of Parker Street and Lyon Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Oct. 23.

Body-worn camera shows officers yell "stop" multiple times before they apprehended him. In the video, the teen, identified as Tyler White, can be seen grabbing at his waistband, where officers discovered a loaded gun tucked in his sweatshirt pocket.

White, 18 was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and operation of a bike on the sidewalk, which is a violation.

He was taken into custody with any incident.

"A good job by the police, we've seen worse, we could look at history and see worser cases, for someone to have their life and a chance to fight whatever they are committed for," said Clarence, who lives in the area.

The NYPD has taken over 4,700 guns off the streets this year.

"Wow, I think there should be more police presence but it's pretty safe," said Ms. V who works in the area.

White is due in court on Nov. 24 to face the gun charge.
