It's official – casinos are coming to New York City. Licenses were awarded to three proposals this week – two at sites in Queens as well as a casino complex at Ferry Point Park.

Construction on Bally’s Bronx could start next year. It could be up and running by 2030.

State Sen. Nathalia Fernandez, who represents the residents in that district, joined the show to discuss the project and what it means to the area.

Also, the City Council just had their last meeting of the year, passing dozens of bills in the final days of 2025 – from street vending reform to increased protections for security guards and ride-share drivers.

Brooklyn Council Member Shahana Hanif spoke with News 12’s Amanda Bossard about those bills and the ones that weren’t acted upon.
