6 people injured in Mott Haven building fire

Authorities received a call reporting the blaze inside the 13-story building on Morris Avenue around 9 p.m. last night.

A residential building fire left six people hurt Monday night in Mott Haven, according to officials.

Authorities received a call reporting the blaze inside the 13-story building on Morris Avenue around 9 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews located the flames on the fifth floor. It took 120 fire and EMS personnel about an hour to extinguish the fire.

Six people were treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
