2 Connecticut Macy’s distribution centers to close

The company said that the job eliminations in are permanent and will begin March 14, 2026.

Macy’s distribution centers in Cheshire and South Windsor are slated to close resulting in the loss of over 1,000 jobs according to WARN Act notices sent out to the state on Monday and Tuesday.

The company said that the job eliminations in are permanent and will begin March 14, 2026.

"Information about severance and other benefits will be made available to impacted employees as well as information about the opportunity to transfer to open positions in nearby Macy’s locations, " Macy's wrote in a letter to the labor department

Just recently, Macy’s announced plans to close 14 underperforming stores nationwide and reinvest in other properties.
