3 hospitalized in Van Cortlandt Park crash that left car flipped, driver trapped

Three people were hospitalized following a crash in Van Cortlandt Park that left a car flipped with its driver trapped inside, the FDNY says.

Emergency personnel responded to 38 West Gun Hill Road just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, rescuing the person trapped.

Citizen app footage from shows a white Dodge SUV on its side with its top sheared off. An NYPD tow truck is seen turning the car upright, leaving its debris scattered on the road.

A white Lexus was also severely damaged in the collision.

The extent of the victims’ injuries is currently unknown.
