A massive fire tore through a home and spread into the surrounding terrain Wednesday night after flames broke out and quickly escalated during a response in Orange County.
Firefighters were called to a wood stove fire in Sparrow Bush, where flames burned through a house along State Route 97 before igniting a brush fire that moved up the nearby mountainside.

Officials said at least 10 fire departments responded to the scene.
Firefighters worked for hours to bring the blaze under control and stop the fire from spreading further into the wooded area.
