A Washingtonville grandfather is raising safety concerns about a stretch of Craigville Road in Goshen—where he says children playing at nearby Little League fields are just feet from traffic, with no guardrails in place.

Michael Graziano noticed the issue while watching his grandchildren play at Myron Urbanski Memorial Park. He worries a vehicle could leave the roadway and enter the area where children are playing.

“Not only my grandkids, but all the kids that play there… distracted driver, alcohol—whatever it is—it’s a problem,” Graziano said.

News 12 observed that guardrails are installed along another portion of Craigville Road near the park’s tennis courts—but not along the stretch in front of the Little League fields.

Graziano says he previously contacted the Orange County Department of Public Works but has not seen any action taken.

News 12 has reached out to Orange County officials for information on whether this area has been evaluated for safety improvements and is awaiting a response. We also reached out to Goshen Little League for comment.
