A shooting at the Excelcare Rehabilitation facility left one person dead and another fighting for their life early Monday morning.
The gunfire erupted in the 6800 block of Delilah Road, drawing a massive police presence to the healthcare center. Upon arrival, emergency responders found two victims: one was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary findings suggest the violence was an isolated incident involving individuals who knew each other. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office stated there is no ongoing threat to the community or general public.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending family notification. Officials have not released a motive or indicated whether any suspects are in custody.
