Gray start in the Hudson Valley before midweek rain

Clouds linger today, then steadier rain arrives Wednesday and Thursday before warmer weather builds later this week.

Clouds stick around today, keeping temperatures seasonable and conditions fairly quiet overall. While there may be a few brighter breaks later on, much of the day stays on the gray side with a light northerly breeze.

Sunshine returns Tuesday before the next storm system arrives midweek. Showers become more widespread Wednesday afternoon and continue into Thursday, bringing periods of steady rain and gusty winds at times. After that system exits, a much warmer pattern takes over heading into the weekend, with temperatures climbing back into the 70s by Saturday and near 80 by Sunday.

Today: Mostly cloudy and seasonable. Highs in the low 60s.

Tuesday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs in the mid-60s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with showers developing later. Highs in the low 60s.

Thursday: Rainy and breezy at times. Highs in the mid-60s.

Friday: Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers. Highs in the upper 60s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and warm. Highs in the mid-70s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and very warm. Highs in the upper 70s.
