Three people have been charged for taking part in contracted killing in Suffolk County.

Yolani Mejia Carranza was charged with plotting a murder-for-hire scheme in Huntington Station that happened back in 2022, officials say.

Two others, Aldo Esmizadeh and Daniel Kersey, are accused of helping to arrange the murder and carrying it out, according to prosecutors.

Police said that the victim, 23-year-old Byron Martinez, was shot and killed outside of his home in Huntington Station.

Court paperwork says that Martinez was killed after threatening to report Carranza for working as a dentist without a license.

Prosecutors say Carranza had accepted Martinez’ mother as a patient, but had left her with serious complications.

The victim’s mother had demanded financial reimbursement and threatened to report Carranza if she was not given payment.
