A New York City Department of Education employee was arrested Friday afternoon in the Bronx on charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching, police said.

Raheem Logue, 44, was taken into custody within the confines of the New York City Police Department 44th Precinct.

It is unclear whether the alleged crimes are connected to a school setting.

In a statement to News 12, Spokesperson for the Department of Education Isla Gething said, "These allegations are serious and deeply disturbing. The individual has been suspended without pay, and if the claims are confirmed, we will pursue termination. We are also putting appropriate supports in place for the school community."
