WHAT TO KNOW
Sunday will feature more sunshine and a touch less humidity. If you are heading down to the Long Island Sound or out on the water, there are currently no weather-related marine hazards in place, though anyone making the trip to the coast should remain cautious of a moderate risk for rip currents on Atlantic-facing beaches.
Enjoy the comfortable stretch while it lasts, because a major summer sizzle is on the way for Litchfield and Fairfield counties. The News 12 Storm Watch Team is tracking extreme heat that is expected to grip the region from Wednesday through Friday, bringing hazy, hot and humid conditions. Looking even further ahead, you'll want to keep an eye on the sky for some pop-up thunderstorms expected next Friday and right into the Independence Day holiday weekend.
