Police say a 28-year-old woman is facing a slew of charges after allegedly stealing someone's identity at Herbert H. Lehman High School.
Officers took Kacy Claassen, of the Bronx, into custody just after 12 p.m. on April 27 following a 911 call for possible identity theft.
Claassen is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal impersonation, possession of a forged instrument and criminal trespassing.
An anonymous caller with ties to the high school tells News 12 Claassen enrolled in the school after spring break, using the identity of a 16-year-old girl. They say she was allowed to register without a parent present.
The caller also says Claassen wore a school uniform and made students uncomfortable, eventually leading one student to report the 28-year-old to administration.
Claassen was arraigned the day after her arrest. She pleaded not guilty to criminal impersonation and trespassing.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Education for a statement and is awaiting a response.
