A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg in Longwood late Thursday.

It happened at Home Street and Reverend James Polite Avenue.

He was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition, officials said.

Jay Lorand, who lives right across the street, heard the commotion and looked out his window to see what was going on.

He says he saw a sight he did not expect.

"I saw the victim outside, sprawled outside in front of the school and just a lot of blood poured around them," says Lorand.

It remains unclear what led to the shooting or whether the teen was the intended target.

Thursday's incident marks the second shooting involving a teen in the Bronx this week. On Wednesday, a 14‑year‑old boy was shot while on his way to school in Soundview.

Police tell News 12 the boy is expected to recover. There have been no arrests.

They are asking anyone with information about the Longwood shooting to contact the Crime Stoppers hotline.
