The dental hygiene program at Hostos Community College offers free dental care for all.
The program gives patients a cost-effective option for treatment and gives students hands-on learning experiences.
Asma Alomari is a dental hygiene student at Hostos Community College. She says she is able to learn and give back to her community at the same time.
"We do free X-rays. We do a thorough cleaning. We take vital signs. We do extra and intraoral screening - the head and neck. So, we do provide all these services, all for free. No insurance is needed either," says Alomari.
The Hostos Dental Hygiene program was established in 1970. On average, 1,260 patients receive dental hygiene treatment for no cost.
This program has a 100% pass rate.
