A 23-year-old woman has died after being shot in University Heights Thursday morning.

Police responded to 2158 Aqueduct Ave. just after 12 a.m. in front of a playground.

Upon arrival, police found a 23-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her left eye.

She was transported by EMS to St Barnabas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police have now identified the woman as Reyna Caceres.

There are no arrests at this time, and an investigation is underway.
