Police are searching for a man captured on camera burglarizing a church in Kingsbridge Heights.

The burglary happened just before 11:10 p.m. on May 24 at Our Lady of Angels Roman Catholic Church, located at 2860 Sedgwick Ave.

Investigators say the man entered the church through a window and stole $400 before running away. Police say the burglary caused $2,400 worth of damage.

News 12 reached out to the archdiocese, which confirmed there was minor damage to the church itself, but it has been repaired.

“Thankfully, nobody was hurt in any way, and there does not seem to be any impact on the church or community,” a spokesperson wrote in a statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
