Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark says a Bronx man was sentenced for beating his brother to death with a bowling ball inside their Concourse Village apartment in 2023.

Jayson Dargan, 43, will serve 17 years behind bars and five years post-release supervision for killing 44-year-old Timothy Dargan, stuffing his body in a trash bag and leaving it under a bed.

Prosecutors say Dargan placed the bowling ball in a trash bag and used it to repeatedly strike his older brother on the head sometime between Oct. 22 and Nov. 1.

"This defendant in cold blood killed his own brother as he slept," said D.A. Clark.

Dargan then put his brother's body in a trash bag and stuffed it under a bed, according to authorities.

The building's management reached out to the father of the Dargan brothers after a neighbor noticed a foul smell. Another one of his sons called police.

Officers arrived at 775 Concourse Village East on Nov. 2., where they discovered Timothy Dargan's body.

Jayson Dargan was arrested later that same day, initially facing murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon charges.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter on May 8, 2026 and was sentenced Tuesday.
