Valley Stream man accused of violent robbery outside an Elmont deli
Nassau County police say that a 59-year-old was in front of Elmont Deli and Convenience when Jason Gayle began arguing with him.

A 45-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested on Monday for a violent robbery outside an Elmont deli.
Nassau County police say that a 59-year-old was in front of Elmont Deli and Convenience when Jason Gayle began arguing with him.
Gayle then allegedly punched the man in the face over and over before knocking him to the ground and kicking him. He is then accused of dragging the victim across the concrete before taking his cellphone from the ground and leaving.
Police say after an investigation they arrested Gayle, who is charged with robbery.
The victim was evaluated and treated at the scene but refused to be taken to the hospital.
