Police say a woman was struck and killed by a motorcycle while she was crossing the street in Wakefield.
Emergency responders were called to East 225th Street and White Plains Road just before 2:30 p.m. Monday.
The woman, who police describe as elderly, was walking in a marked crosswalk when the motorcyclist hit her.
EMS rushed her to Jacobi Hospital, where she died.
Police say the motorcyclist took off after the crash, riding eastbound on East 225th Street.
The victim’s exact age and identity have not been released as of Monday evening.
