Man wanted for Clason Point shooting that sent victim running into nearby deli for help

The NYPD released images of the man they say is responsible for a shooting in Clason Point that sent a 49-year-old man running into a nearby deli for help.
Police say the man was shot in the leg outside of 1176 Randall Ave. just after 3:30 p.m. on June 24.
Paramedics took him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi. He is expected to recover, according to the NYPD.
News 12 obtained surveillance footage from inside the deli, showing the 49-year-old man limping inside before collapsing in the back of the store.
The deli owner, Ali Ashmali, told News 12 that the victim bought a bag of chips from the deli minutes before the shooting.
“He walked in, he said, ‘Please call the cops. Close the store,’” Ashmali said.
He said the camera outside the deli could have captured the shooting, but it was not working at the time. Ashmali told News 12 that a technician was supposed to come a few days earlier to make repairs.
Now, one week later, police have identified the suspected gunman, who they say is around 18 to 22 years old.
According to the NYPD, he has medium-length brown hair and brown eyes.
The image released by police shows the man carrying a black book bag and wearing a white shirt and black-and-white shorts.
