Four people were injured Saturday afternoon when a tree fell in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to officials and witnesses.

Emergency responders say the incident happened at approximately 3:58 p.m. in Herbert Von King Park, near the intersection of Green and Marcy avenues.

Officials say the victims included three men, ages 54, 59 and 67, and a 29-year-old woman.

Witnesses described hearing a loud crash before they rushed to the scene.

“I heard the crash and I ran out. I saw the whole thing lying on its side,” one witness said. “The older man, he had the brace on and he was bleeding bad.”

The 67-year-old man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County for treatment. Authorities said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Information on the conditions of the other injured victims was not immediately available as of Sunday morning.

The tree remained split and draped over a park fence hours after the incident, while the area around the park entrance was closed off with tape and barriers.

Residents who live near the park said they have raised concerns for years about the condition of several trees there. They have called on the city's Parks Department to trim or replace those that appear damaged or unhealthy.
