Police say a person of interest is in custody after bullets rang out inside of a Fordham building Monday morning.
Investigators say officers responded to a shooting at 2700 Jerome Ave. at around 1:21 a.m. There they found a 34-year-old woman with a graze wound on her left ear. She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to be ok.
Video from the scene shows the victim wheeled out by EMS, as neighbors stood outside of the building with tears in their eyes, hugging one another.
Moments later a man is seen walked out of the building in handcuffs by police. He is heard yelling to someone at the buildings doorsteps, “relax, please.”
Police say they are still investigating what led up to the shooting and could not confirm if the victim and her attacker knew each other.
Investigators say the person of interest has not been charged at this time.
