The NYPD responded to a shooting on Boyd Avenue near Gunther and Pitkin avenues on Tuesday. Police said a 59-year-old man was shot in the back just before 9 a.m.

Sources said the shooting happened after a disagreement between neighbors.

One neighbor spoke to News 12 about what she saw moments after hearing the gunshots.

"I saw the man duck, and then he ran, and then he went to the other block. Then he came back. He asked us to call the ambulance," the neighbor said.

NYPD Emergency Service Units wearing tactical gear entered the home where the victim and the suspect were said to live and later cleared the scene.

The victim was taken to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi and is expected to recover.

Police are looking for the suspect in the shooting. They said the male suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing while running from the scene.
