The Lower Hudson Valley gets a taste of late summer today—at least by August standards. Friday brings abundant sunshine, comfortable humidity and a high in the low 80s from Yonkers and White Plains north through Peekskill and Poughkeepsie. It’s a great day for a walk along the Hudson, a farmers market or an evening outdoors.

Saturday may be the weekend’s gem. Look for another mostly sunny, pleasantly warm day with relatively comfortable air. Enjoy this day while it lasts! Sunday is the pivot: clouds and humidity build, with showers and a thunderstorm becoming increasingly likely during the afternoon and evening.

Locally heavy rain a concern late on Sunday. Isolated flash flooding and ponding on the roadways possible. Monday stays humid, with additional morning shower chances before more comfortable weather returns.
