Queens man facing charges for fatal hit-and-run in Concourse Village

Police say the incident happened just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 8 at the intersection of East 166th Street and College Avenue.

A Queens man has been arrested after police say he struck and killed a man who was lying in the road in Concourse Village.

Luis Torres has been charged with attempted murder, attempted assault and two counts of assault.

Police say the incident happened just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 8 at the intersection of East 166th Street and College Avenue.

Officials say that following a fight, a 38-year-old was left unresponsive in the roadway. They say that shortly after the assault, Torres, traveling east in a white BMW X5, struck the man and did not stay on scene.

The victim was later hit by an NYPD vehicle. The officer did stay on scene and provided aid.

The man was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he later died.

Officials have not yet released his identity.
