Hundreds of students at the Bronx High School for Computer Science are putting their coding skills to the test as they compete in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Congressional App Challenge.

Students have been tasked with creating an app designed to address a problem in their community, with projects focusing on a range of real-world issues.

Participants say the competition gives them an opportunity to use technology to create solutions that can have a positive impact both locally and beyond.

The winning app will be announced on Friday and will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol, giving the student developers national recognition for their work.
