NJ Transit is rolling out a redesigned website, upgraded mobile app features and a new AI-powered chatbot as part of an effort to modernize its digital services and improve access to travel information for riders.

The changes align with Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s Rapid Action Plan for NJ Transit, which aims to improve customer transparency and modernize critical digital infrastructure.

According to a press release, the AI-powered chatbot, “Navvie,” will help customers quickly access trip-planning and travel information without having to navigate multiple web pages.

Beginning Tuesday, NJ Transit’s redesigned website will feature a simplified design for faster access to frequently used features, a modernized, mobile-responsive layout and a more streamlined trip-planning experience, among other updates.

On Sept. 9, the agency will launch an upgraded mobile app designed to improve reliability, service information, ticketing and trip planning based on customer feedback received after the release of the newly redesigned app earlier this year.

Navvie is launching as a pilot program and, depending on the results, may be integrated into the NJ Transit mobile app by the end of 2026.
