A fatal police shooting in Times Square is now under investigation by the New York attorney general's office.
The attorney general's office said Pamela Cisneros died following an encounter with NYPD officers Monday afternoon.
Investigators said Cisneros stabbed two people near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue before officers located her.
One of the victims, 32-year-old Erin Piacenti of Chester, New Jersey, was killed in the attack.
A 68-year-old man was also stabbed and survived, police said.
Video released by authorities shows Cisneros armed with multiple knives before running toward police.
Officers then fatally shot Cisneros, according to investigators.
Police said Cisneros, a Queens resident, had a history of mental health issues but no prior arrests.
The attorney general's office is investigating the officer-involved shooting, as required under state law.
