Five firefighters were injured battling a second-alarm fire inside an autobody shop in Coney Island Saturday morning, according to the FDNY.
Flames erupted inside 3088 Cropsey Ave. just after 9:30 a.m. The blaze escalated to a second-alarm around 15 minutes later.
Citizen app footage shows thick black smoke billowing from the single story shop as firefighters work their way inside.
The FDNY says crews were able to control the blaze about 40 minutes after it broke out.
Paramedics took the wounded firefighters to NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. They all suffered minor injuries, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
