Man in critical condition after stabbing inside Morris Heights deli

Police have one person of interest in custody, while they continue searching for another suspect.

A 36-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck during a dispute inside a deli on Grand Avenue in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.

Police say the stabbing happened around 12:17 p.m. Friday at 1704 Grand Ave. between W 175th Street and W 176th Street. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Paramedics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where police say he remains in critical condition as of Friday night.

Police have one person of interest in custody, while they continue searching for another suspect.

Residents tell News 12 they are concerned about a group of people in the neighborhood who they say have caused problems in the community.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
