A new partnership between Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the Metropolitan Opera will help make opera accessible and allow more New Yorkers to experience it for the first time.

As part of "Opera for All," the Met will release 10,000 tickets each month throughout the 2026-2027 season via a lottery. New Yorkers can enter the monthly lottery through the Met's app or by visiting the Met's website.

Met officials say anyone who has not purchased a Met Opera ticket since 2019 is eligible to enter the lottery. Tickets will be available in every section, excluding standing room.

Officials expect a total of 70,000 tickets to be released.

This season's performances include "Macbeth," "Lincoln in the Bardo" and "La Boheme."
