A new indoor attraction in Manalapan is inviting visitors of all ages to channel their inner kid.
Slick City Adventure Action Park recently opened with 14 giant dry slides, two sports courts, an arcade, a toddler play area and a cafe.
Owner Andy Katz said the goal was to create an attraction packed with activities for the entire family.
"We have 14 dry slides. We also have two sports courts. We have a basketball sport court and a dodgeball sport court. We have a full 3,000-square-foot area for toddlers... an arcade and we also have a full cafe," Katz said.
The slides aren't your typical playground attraction. Riders use mats and can race friends, fly down headfirst or tackle a variety of high-speed experiences.
"It's action packed. You're going to have fun. It's not your playground slide in your local school or park," Katz said. "You go down on a mat. You go down belly first and they are fast, not too fast. There are slides for all ages."
Katz said he wanted to bring something different to the community where he grew up.
"I wanted to bring something new and unique to the place that I grew up," he said. "Slides are something that everybody has done at some point in their life. It's enjoyable for everybody from 4 years and up."
Whether visitors are racing friends, watching their kids take on the tallest slides or conquering a fear of heights themselves, the park is designed to keep everyone moving.
Slick City offers families a new place to burn off energy and prove you're never too old for a trip down a slide.
