Some NJ Transit commuters may want to catch an earlier train this morning as planned Amtrak maintenance work could lead to delays.

NJ Transit says Amtrak crews are performing work on overhead wires between Rahway and Metropark. The maintenance could cause intermittent delays of up to 20 minutes on the Northeast Corridor Line and North Jersey Coast Line.

The Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines meet in Rahway, which is why both lines may be affected.

NJ Transit says the maintenance is expected to be completed before Friday's morning rush hour. Riders are being encouraged to allow extra travel time this morning in case delays develop.
