At least nine people were rushed to the hospital after a car plowed through an intersection and struck multiple pedestrians and multiple other cars in Allerton, according to the FDNY and the NYPD. Three of those people are in critical condition.
It unfolded just before 2:15 p.m. Friday at Allerton and Holland avenues.
Surveillance footage obtained by News 12 shows a white sedan fly through the busy intersection, plowing through a group of people in the crosswalk and hitting multiple cars waiting at the light.
Police say three people were hit by the Mercedes and rushed to Jacobi Hospital. They are all listed in critical condition.
The six remaining victims were likely occupants of the cars that were hit, according to a preliminary report from the NYPD. Paramedics took them to a nearby hospital where investigators say they are expected to recover.
The NYPD says all parties involved in the crash remained on scene.
No arrests have been made.
