City leaders are launching a new effort across all five boroughs to connect more New Yorkers with a program designed to lower their energy costs.

The Mayor's Public Engagement Unit will work to boost enrollment in the Enhanced Energy Affordability Program, which helps low- and moderate-income households receive discounts on their utility bills from Con Edison and National Grid.

Officials say eligible customers can save up to $33 per month on electricity bills and up to $135 per month on gas bills.

The city says the outreach campaign aims to ensure more residents take advantage of the assistance available as energy costs continue to impact household budgets.
