22 alleged gang members charged in connection with 26 shootings

Twenty-two alleged gang members have been charged in connection with 25 shootings in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan. The 176-count indictment alleges those arrested, all between the ages of 17 and 26, are members of subsets of the “Folk Nation” gang, called the “Renegade Goons” and the “OOs."

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s office is calling it one of the largest takedowns in the history of the office.

“These are the drivers of gun violence," Brooklyn D.A. Eric Gonzalez said. "The very small percentage of young men who will pick up a gun, aim that gun, and pull the trigger and attempt to shoot them."

The connected shootings spanned from October 2022 and December 2025.

Including this shooting News 12 covered back on Dec. 14, 2025. Surveillance video shows the moment two shooters ran up to a sweet 16 party and shot six teenagers, including three young girls.

The D.A. has charged two 17-year-olds, Deremous Wilder and Gabriel Rhoden, who had not previously been charged in this case. All six teens survived that shooting.

Another shooting in the indictment happened in East Flatbush in April 2024. Surveillance video shows the moment the alleged shooter ran up to Daequan Buckley as he was leaving the barber shop and fired his gun at point-blank range, killing Buckley.

"We understand there is just a small percentage of people in gangs that are the enforcers, that are going to go out and pull the triggers," D.A. Gonzalez said, "and today there are a lot less of them on our streets.”

The Brooklyn D.A. also credited the NYPD and Gov. Kathy Hochul for their help in the takedown.

“If you endanger our communities, if you endanger our neighbors," Hochul said, "we will find you and we will prosecute you in the fullest extent of the law.”

The Brooklyn D.A. says all but five defendants are charged with attempted murder for allegedly pulling the trigger during a shooting.

Other charges include conspiracy to commit murder and second-degree murder.
