St. Patrick's Day isn't until next week, but the Fieldstone community couldn't wait that long to celebrate.

The fifth annual St. Patrick's Day parade on West 251st Street was "Dublin" the fun on Saturday.

Parade founder John Kelly said he started the parade back in 2020, right around the time the COVID-19 pandemic plagued the nation, to show how strong his community is.

"I feel like when you find friends in the Bronx and meet people in the Bronx, they are pre-approved," Kelly said. "It's a deliberate act to live here, and I love the spirit that folks in this community share. It's such an amazing place. I love the Bronx."

After all that marching, friends and family raised the bar, and headed over to the Tortoise & Hare. Many residents told News 12 their community is their pot of gold.

"The first year, the community kind of came together in a way that, we're all in this together, and so after that, it got bigger and better, and I just love coming back to the parade," said Don Steele, who has attended the parade since year one. "It means a lot to me to be with friends and people I don't see all the time, so it's really wonderful."
